Grace puts her foot down and leaves without further action. He doesn't believe a word Grace is saying despite her obvious reaction. She says it strenuously over and over until the detective asks if she doesn't want to know or if she already knows. The detectives want to tell her the patient's name, but Grace vehemently resists. Grace say Jonathan is warm and caring, not the asshole who would walk into a room and tell a parent their child had cancer without possibly touching them in some way. Jonathan was fired due to inappropriate contact with the family member of a patient. She thinks that obtaining that information, even with a court order, is bullshit. The detective then wonders why she's not curious as to why her husband got fired. They wonder if him leaving his phone seems normal. The detectives wonder again if she's hiding him, mentioning his phone being at the apartment. That's when Grace learns Jonathan hasn't been employed at the hospital for nearly three months and that his termination followed three earlier disciplinary actions at the hospital. They assure her they just want to talk and leave the room. She's taken to an interrogation room and takes a seat. He thinks it's a terrible idea, especially without a lawyer, but she thinks it's the quickest way to find the answers she seeks. She's gravely concerned, as she should be.įranklin wonders why the hell she went with them. They want to take her to the police station for questioning. Grace meets with the detectives who have followed her to her father's place. Grace recalls Jonathan blowing up balloons for one of his patients on her way to pick up Henry at school. There are strict terms at hand, and he cannot talk with Grace. She asks if he heard from Jonathan, and Stuart begins to dismiss himself. It sounds a lot like something that might appeal to Jonathan - the desire to be mysterious and courageous when they normally feel so ordinary. The men with the marriage issues are still talking about why they cheated. Rosenthal at the hospital to see if he's heard from Jonathan. Grace goes to work, hoping that Jonthan called. The word is that Elena's husband turned himself in, and that makes the other women gossip about the party and all of the men who were paying Elena attention at the party the night before her death. The school is brimming with activity with parents and reporters. With the boy finding his mother, bludgeoned beyond recognition. Grace recalls Elena saying she feels overwhelmed and lost. Jonathan's phone rings, but nobody is there. Henry points out that Jonathan is usually terrible about checking in. Henry visits Grace in her room, scaring her. She can't imagine how everyone is coping with this, especially Elena's children. She flips on the phone to detailed news of Elena's death.
Grace hopes Henry knows the code for Jonathan's phone, but he doesn't. Grace finds it odd that Jonathan did that when he usually says goodbye the night before. He doesn't understand why Grace is grilling him. Revisiting that Grace called a billion Jonathan Frasers but got the wrong Jonathan Fraser.
